Whether it is an animal, or person
My dog Tasha was sadly put to sleep today...
She was my only dog...from 1st grade to my senior year (now) she has been there...
A beautiful German Shepard-Black Labrador (the only floppy eared Shepard I'VE seen)
She was there for me when i needed... This is a very old picture...from when i lived in a larger ranch style house with a LARGE backyard and front yard...this was from either 1st-to 3rd grade, there is no date... But i remember she LOVED that yard...And the mail man oddly. And we used to throw around a huge Frisbee (it was like some giant kids toy, i think it was called 'flying saucer'

even the time she rolled in raccoon feces. And how she was afraid of the vacuum but chased the lawn mower!!? When she wasn't housebroken...when my friend from poor village in El Salvador was first afraid of her (sadly this girl grew up to be a distant to me, we don't talk after 10 years of friendship) and other silly thing...like when she chased a squirrel that got in the house!! Two different times!!
Then we moved to a bigger house-smaller yard...She equally enjoyed it..But as the years dragged on, lost her playful puppy-ness ...her face turning gray... ...Then this past year she was slowing down eating less getting diarrhea vomiting...having to go throw many meal options...this past two weeks she was eating less she ever did and vet visits often...starting this summer, it was every month then every couple weeks...this past week she was there 3 times... Sadly she begun refusing to eat and was weak falling everywhere..she was 14 i might add...so the vet recommended the most human thing...to put her down...i was expecting this and was prepared not to cry...but when i last saw her desperately hobbling towards us with a bandaged leg (from the IV of pain medicine) and she was still chewing her lease trying to take US for a walk, like she always did, I burst out crying...Everyone in my family was... The rest of this evening i have been doing my best to keep up everyone's moods...my mom the matriarch of the family is in the city this weekend ,it was her baby girl i might add, so i had to step up and cheer up my grandmother and aunt. My father who is divorced from my mother was crying on the phone as well... So yes i hold my own tears as me a simple 17 year old tries earnestly to make everyone adapt as best as they can... The only well, consolation is we have 2 cockatiels, 1 canary, 3 eastern box turtles, and 1 40+ year old three-toed box turtle...so we aren't ALL alone... the easiest thing i thought of was letting Bubbles, the oldest turtle, parade freely around the main level. My grandmother cared for him for 30 years and loves him to pieces aswell... So he was the hero for today...thanks Bubbles!!
It's tough ...but we all live on...my uncle said it best "It was hard putting Sparky down, it'll be hard with Augie, and Pikachu..that is the sad part about owning a dog...But it is worth it to have them by you as long as they live."
